Photometric determination

Portable photometer

A photometer is required to carry out a photometric determination. MedEcoTest offers to supply the following types of photometers:

Portable photometer DataLine WINLAB (Manufactured: Germany)

  • 9 wavelengths
    380 – 430 – 470 – 500 – 520 – 560 – 610 – 700 – 810 nm
  • up to 150 methods in memory
  • durable waterproof case
  • 16 mm round cuvettes
  • transport case

USB photometer, connects to a computer or laptop (Manufactured: Austria)

  • 1 or 2 pre-selected wavelengths
  • cuvettes 10*10 mm

Also, MedEcoTest tests can be used with almost all the other photometers (manufactured by Hach-Dr.Lange, Merck-Millipore, Hanna Instruments, Macherey-Nagel), after working out the calibration curve.

For advice on the supplied equipment, its cost, as well as the use of MedEcoTest tests with already owned photometers, please contact us.

Photometric methods

Test kits for photometric determination

The process of determination includes sampling (and also sample preparation when analyzing soils), adding test components, and measuring absorbance. The concentration of the analyte is determined by a predetermined calibration curve, usually stored in the photometer’s memory.

The determination includes sampling (and its preparation in the analysis of soils), the addition of test components, and the measurement of optical density. The concentration of the analyte is determined by a predetermined calibration curve.

Water:
Color, Turbidity, Dissolved oxygen, pH, NH4+, NO3, NO2, PO43-, F, Cl, SO42-, SO32-, S2-, I, Active chlorine, Ozone, Si, Total hardness, Ca, Mg, B, Fe, Mn, Cr, Zn, Ag, Cu, Ni, Al, Co, Cd, Mo, Phenolic index, Formaldehyde

Chemical oxygen demand (COD) is the most important parameter determined in wastewater. MedEcoTest supplies the necessary reagents and equipment (photometer, thermoblock for sample preparation) for determining COD.

Soil (the package includes everything necessary for sample preparation):
Ammonium nitrogen, Nitrate nitrogen, Mobile phosphorus, Potassium, Humic acids, Exchange acidity, pH, Mobile forms of Manganese, Zinc, Copper, Molybdenum, Total heavy metals, Chlorides
